Total Clean NY

Cleaner spaces. Healthier lives.

Our own vans, our own crew

The van outside is ours. So is the technician.

No subcontractors, no lead-selling apps, no rotating strangers. The same technicians work the same neighborhoods, in uniform, in a van with our name on the side. The same faces each visit, and a number that reaches the people who did the work.

What you get

Steam cleaning that reaches the base of the pile

Rental units and home machines heat a few litres of water and pull weakly. Our equipment runs water at high temperature with suction strong enough to take the soil — and most of the moisture — back out with it.

  • Pre-inspection of every spot, with an honest call on what will lift and what is permanent damage.
  • Alkaline or wool-safe pre-spray matched to your fibre, agitated into the pile.
  • Hot-water extraction rinse that leaves no sticky detergent behind to attract dirt.
  • Deodoriser and grooming pass, plus optional stain protector to buy yourself the next few years.

Included in every carpet job

  • Vacuuming and spot pre-treatment
  • Moving of sofas and light furniture
  • Corner guards and entry protection
  • Deodorising and pile grooming
  • Post-clean walkthrough with you

What we fix

Stains and smells we deal with weekly

Tell us which of these you're facing when you call — the right pre-treatment is loaded before we leave the yard.

Traffic lanes

The grey path from door to sofa is abrasive grit, not just colour. It needs agitation and heat, and it's the single most satisfying thing to reverse.

Pet urine & odour

Surface cleaning moves the smell around. Urine in the pad needs a sub-surface flood and extraction, and sometimes an honest conversation about the pad.

Red wine, coffee, juice

Tannin and dye stains respond to specific chemistry, not scrubbing. Scrubbing at home is what usually sets them permanently.

Grease and food

Kitchen-adjacent carpet holds an oily film that re-soils within weeks of a cheap clean. A solvent pre-spray then hot rinse is what actually cuts it.

Post-renovation dust

Drywall dust binds into the base of the pile and dulls the whole floor. It needs dry removal first, then extraction.

Musty basement carpet

Usually moisture rather than dirt. We'll clean it, but we'll also tell you if the real fix is a dehumidifier or a leak repair.

Why people book us

Why people let us into their homes

Carpet cleaning is one of the few trades where the damage shows up a week after the technician has gone. These are the failure points, and what we do about each of them.

No over-wetting, ever

A soaked carpet can shrink, delaminate from its backing or grow mould in the pad. Our extraction pulls the water back out on the same pass, which is why carpet is damp-dry in three to six hours instead of two days.

No sticky detergent left behind

Cheap cleans leave soap in the fibre, and soap attracts dirt — which is why some carpets look filthy again within a month. Ours are rinsed and extracted until the return water runs clear.

Wool and delicate fibres get different chemistry

High-alkaline product on wool causes browning and texture damage. Tell us the fibre when you book and the right pH-neutral solution is on the van before we arrive.

Your furniture is protected, not shoved

Sofas and light tables are moved and set on protective tabs and blocks. Beds, pianos, cabinets and electronics stay where they are — we would rather say no than gouge a floor.

An honest read on every stain

Some marks are dye damage or worn fibre and will never lift. You will hear that at the walkthrough, before you commit, rather than after we have taken payment.

14 days to change your mind about a spot

Tell the technician before they pack up and they'll re-treat it on the spot. If the same stain comes back call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.

  • Licensed & insured — certificate sent to your building on request
  • Background-checked technicians, never subcontractors
  • Written price agreed before any work starts
  • 14-day re-clean guarantee in writing

Four steps, every time

How we clean your carpet

Inspect

Fibre type, soil level and every stain identified and priced before anything gets wet.

Pre-treat

Traffic lanes, spots and pet areas get a dwell-time treatment so the soil releases.

Extract

High-temperature rinse and vacuum in overlapping passes until the return water runs clear.

Dry & groom

Pile set in one direction, airflow arranged, and a final look with you before we leave.

Method matters

Steam cleaning done properly vs done cheaply

This is the honest comparison. A rental unit can freshen a small room, and a bargain operator can wet your carpet for $79 — neither pulls embedded grit out of the backing or leaves the floor dry the same day.

Straight answers

Questions we get every day

How much does carpet cleaning cost?

$29 per room with a three-room minimum. What you pay depends on how many rooms, whether there are stairs, and whether any pet treatment is needed — and you get the full number on the phone before booking, not after we arrive.

How long does carpet take to dry?

Three to six hours for normal carpet in a ventilated room, up to 24 hours for thick or wool pile. Our professional steam extraction pulls out far more water than a rental machine, which is exactly why rented units leave carpet soaked for two days.

Do you move the furniture?

We move sofas, chairs and light tables and put protective tabs under the legs. We don't move beds, pianos, china cabinets or electronics. Clear small items and breakables before we arrive and the crew works faster.

Can you get out old pet stains and the smell?

Often, yes. Surface stains usually lift with an enzyme pre-treatment. Urine that has soaked into the pad needs a sub-surface treatment that floods and extracts the backing — priced separately, and we'll tell you honestly when replacing the pad is the better spend.

Will the stains come back?

Tell the technician before they pack up and they'll re-treat it on the spot. If the same stain comes back call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.

Do I need to vacuum before you arrive?

It helps but it isn't required — we vacuum as part of the job. Just clear the floor of toys, cables and anything fragile.

Is steam cleaning safe for wool carpet?

Yes, with adjusted temperature and a pH-neutral wool-safe solution. Tell us the fibre when you book so the technician arrives with the right chemistry.

How often should carpet be cleaned?

Every 12 to 18 months for a normal household, every 6 to 12 with pets, small children or a walk-up where street grit gets tracked in. Most carpet warranties also require professional cleaning on a schedule.

Can you clean carpet on stairs and landings?

Yes — stairs are $35 a flight of up to 14 steps. Landings are included with the flight.

Do you offer carpet protector, and is it worth it?

It's $20 a room and it buys you time, not immunity: spills bead instead of soaking straight into the fibre, so you have a minute to blot. Worth it on light carpet and in dining rooms; skip it in a spare bedroom nobody uses.
